Kimmy's Reviews

Adventure of the Seas
The ship was nice and big. The first day the check-in process was a bit lengthy. We had a balcony room on the seventh floor, room 7252. Our dinner table consisted of three other couples, one from Canada, one from Texas, one from North Carolina. We only had one day at sea, which was the first day.

Barbados
We took a two-hour taxi tour and then went to Lobster Live Beach. We also ate at a local fast food restaurant called Cheffette. The beach was fairly nice. We also got to see a monkey up close at one of the villages where we stopped. Mike played with the monkey.

St. Lucia

We did the dolphin and whale watching tour. We saw a bunch of dolphins on the tour. We also made our way to the beach and stayed there a few hours. We got a few locals to sing.

Antigua
Mike insisted on the pirate ship tour, Black Swan ship. It was a beach snorkeling tour.

He also arranged for us to “pretend” to be married on the ship. So, in front of 120 people, we were “married” in front of those strangers. The ship was extremely crowded and standing room only. Antigua is a hot and very dried-up looking island. We saw again the lady that dances in the area in front of the ship with a pineapple balanced on her forehead.

St. Maarten
We spent most of the day at Orient Beach, which is on the French side of the island.
We rented beach chairs/umbrellas for $18. We also made a return visit to Chez Leandre, a French Creole restaurant right on the beach. Mike had ribs and I had a Satay chicken wrap. This was my favorite stop.

St. Croix
We went on the Salt River kayaking tour, and it was kind of fun but hot. There was a lot of stopping to learn about mangroves. We saw a turtle near the surface of the ocean when we were on our way back to the ship. We saw several types of egrets and a rookery of birds in some trees near the edge of the water. Our cruise ship was the first ship that stopped at St Croix in a long time. The locals had a mini festival parade right in front of the ship. There were different troops of dancers.

Dinner
The dinners were good but I can’t remark on any one entrée. One of the appetizers was good, called Morrocan Chicken Salad. They had a Café Promenade which was open all the time and had really good cheese pizza. One night we ate at Portofino’s for $20 per person. It was okay but not worth the money. It was Italian food.

Cruise Rating
I would rate this cruise a seven out of ten. It was better than average but not over the top.

We didn’t see a lot of the entertainment. We saw a Las Vegas show called “Jackpot” and one ice show which we had seen before several cruises ago. I would say this ship offered fewer choices for entertainment than some of the others.

The only day we stayed at the pool was the first day at sea, and they did the usual contests at the pool-- men’s belly flop and men’s sexy legs. They never have any contests for the women – probably because they may find it too sexy.

The itinerary was why we choose this cruise. St. Martin is on the top of our list for the best beaches. St Croix was a new stop being offered, and we felt it was worth checking out.

Delta versus US Air
Delta has a cool mini TV screen in front of each seat. You could watch different channels and play games like solitaire on it. The also offered cookies and sodas. US Air did not have TV screens or any free food or snacks. Delta seems like a better airline.
