Mike & Kim's Bermuda Cruise

Captain's Log

September 14 - 21, 2003

This cruise was very relaxing. The weather was great. Isabel was on it's way to N.C. when we were arrived in Bermuda. We walked to the beach and walked around town. It wasn't rush, rush, rush like the other cruises we have been on.

We went on three excursions: the Ultimate Water Tour, Peppercorn Helmet Diving, and Glass Bottom Boat Tour. The Helmet Diving was my favorite. It was really fun.

Bermuda got hit by a hurricane a couple weeks before we went, so there was a lot of debris all over the place. The salt water killed every flower on the island and turned the grass brown. There were also many ships flipped over floating in the water or smashed on land.

The industrial strike messed with the excursions that we planned. The tug boat operators were on strike and we couldn't leave once we were ported. We were supposed to see Hamilton and King's Wharf. The busses also weren't running. We didn't even get to see any pink sand.

The Norwegian Sea was smaller than the rest of the ships that we have been on. The staff was nice and the shows were good. The ship rocked back and forth a lot. I had a hard time sleeping. The TV was terrible. We watched the storm coverage on CNN, and a bunch of sucky shows. Our window wasn't very good because we were on the Promenade deck and people kept walking by our window.

The food was really good and there was plenty of it. Every meal we had an appetizer, soup, salad, a dinner or two, and desert. We ate a lot. We ordered breakfast room service almost every day. There were also a lot of buffets and barbecues by the pool.

Over all we had a really good time.
