There were too many lines on embarkation
day, and they moved really slowly. The pool band was
good but nothing extra. A lot of dirty dancing was
observed, and I found it offensive. The lounge for
karaoke was too small, and we couldn’t even
get in to watch. Our stateroom was found unlocked
twice. Table waiters were excellent.
Nassau
We stayed two days in Nassau and stayed overnight
as well. I thought Nassau was nice. The snorkeling
was great there. The weather was fair with thunderstorms
every day. There was some good shopping. We found
a great restaurant called Café Iguana. It had
nice music, food, and a good deck. We were going to
eat at the Pepper Pot Grill; but they were out of
plantains, so we left. The first day, we took a very
crowded boat for some snorkeling. The first night
we took a taxi to Atlantis Resort and Casino. It has
a big aquarium, probably one of largest. The top was
completely open, and we saw giant fish and stingrays.
The bottom part is called “The Dig,” and
it was huge as well.

The
second day we took a ferry boat to Pearl Island
which was okay. We did some snorkeling there
and then went to a fenced-in stingray area,
which pales in comparison to Stingray City in
Grand Cayman. Also, on the boat ride back, I
saw the best Caribbean limbo dancers ever. Their
footwork was fantastic, and they make you want
to dance with their style and rhythm. Mike was
the only one could out-dance these two. |
Senor
Frogs
This was the restaurant at Nassau which we went
to one night. It has same flavor as Carlos ‘n
Charlies. There was a lot of an 18-21 crowd; I think
they were celebrating high school graduation. The
best part was watching the DJ on stage directing the
crowd and the band. It was fun with lots of dancing.
I would definitely go back when I get back down
there.
Freeport
We took a taxi ride to Lucaya Beach which
was $5.00 per person. It was a nice beach,
and we had fun there laying out, riding the
surf, and jumping on a trampoline.
Our
friends went on the Tranquility Beach Break,
which was $50.00 per person and served a bad
lunch from what we heard. We had a great day
at Lucaya Beach.

The
Ship
The ship was okay. I would give it a ‘6”
on a 1-10 scale. It wasn’t as big as some of
the other ships we have been on. It had good entertainment
every night. Carnival has a lively show program. I
didn’t think the service was superior, but it
was good. There were lots of kids on this cruise,
and they were always in the pool.
Food
The food was good but not excellent. They had
good fish, but the chicken was a little plainer.
The fruits, appetizers, and soups were really
good. I usually order two soups per night, even
it’s just to sample one of them.
By the end of the cruise, they had my coke sitting
on the table for me when I arrived. We sat with
Jean and Pickles which was nice, but we were
expecting a larger table, which never materialized.
Lots of times we weren’t on time or they
weren’t either. Having only four people
at the table, we got through dinner quickly.
I have been at tables of eight, and it can two
hours to eat which can be annoying.
