Mike and
Kim's
New Orleans Labor Day Weekend Vacation
August 31 September 2, 2002
Kim
and I left for New Orleans on Saturday Morning and got there after lunch.
I thought our trip was going to be like the Girls Gone Wild Mardi Gras Video.
Kimmy wanted to go to New Orleans to see all the Live Oak Trees and iron balconies.
We were surprise to find out we went there during Gay Mardi Gras.
The
view out of our window on the 23rd floor at the Wyndham on Canal Street was
awesome.
We could see some of the French Quarter, French Flea Market, and the Natchez.
We had a really good view of the Mississippi River the 3rd largest river in the world.

And a good view of the Aquarium which we went to Sunday Afternoon.

We had a nice big room.

We stopped at the pool on the roof for a minute.

There were narrow streets and iron balconies in the French Quarter.

Silver cowboys trying to make a buck.

Larry
Flint's Hustler Club. Later that night some guys and girls on the balcony were
throwing beads. I saw half a boob. Kimmy wouldn't let me go in.

We started to notice a lot of gay couples.

During
lunch we found out that it was Southern Decadence Weekend. (Gay Mardi Gras)
Kimmy and I weren't thrilled.

Robert and Alison told us to stay at the Bourbon Orleans which was right across from ...

... more gays than I have ever seen in my entire life.

And they were flaming. Hundreds of guys walking around practically naked.

Guys were flashing other guys for beads.

So we got out of there and went to the Harrah's Casino.

The Wyndham Hotel was connected to a mall, the Shops at Canal Place.

We took a cruise on the Creole Queen up the Mississippi.

We passed the Natchez (Nachos), the only paddle boat on the river.

This boat was from Norfolk, Virginia.

After the cruise we went to the aquarium.

Some guy in the tank feeding the fish.

The
stingrays were happy to see us. We feed some in Grand Cayman.

Kimmy liked the Tree Frog.

Jaws.

That's all folks!
Isn't
my red head cute!
This wasn't our best vacation. Too many gays. We had some fun and we had a really
good dinner on Canal Street. I tried the turtle soup. It was good. We also rode
down St. Charles St.
on a trolley and saw old houses with Live Oak Trees. We also saw Loyola and
Tulane Universities.
We
were in New Orleans from Saturday Morning to Monday Morning. We flew with Delta.
Richmond to Atlanta to New Orleans.
